Transport + Energy is a multimedia brand which was set up to bring the two sectors together to effect the transition to net zero.

We believe that local council, regional, and national transport and energy plans need to be brought together to ensure the UK’s transition to electric vehicles and decarbonised transport is successful.

Objectives

We explore the work being done across the sectors bringing together the two key enabling industries for the first time.

Transport + Energy provides news, comment and features on key trends and developments in the transport and energy sectors, alongside a weekly newsletter, highlighting key stories of the week, including our own comment on the week’s most pressing issues.

Our multi-channel brand also hosts an annual forum and industry awards dinner, bringing 300 delegates together to debate, discuss, network and celebrate the progress of the transport and energy sectors towards net zero.

With an ever growing, highly engaged community of over 24,000 followers and subscribers, Transport + Energy has rapidly grown into the go-to brand for industry professionals across the transport and energy sectors.

Meet the team

Alec Peachey

Founder + Editorial Director

Alec has over 15 years of experience in multimedia journalism and content creation, and is passionate about bringing together the transport and energy sectors to support the UK’s transition to electric vehicles and decarbonised transport.

In addition to chairing sessions at industry events, Alec is the founder of Transport + Energy, a media brand which covers the latest news, insights, and innovations in this emerging field.

Alec also acts as an editorial, PR, and communications consultant, providing a range of services to clients in the transport and energy industries, such as writing, sub-editing, conference production, moderating, and operational management.

Sam Wibrew

Business Development Manager

Sam has a long standing history of working in the publishing, media and events industries and has been instrumental in helping to successfully deliver global conferences and exhibitions since the mid-1990s. 

Much of his time has been spent in the sports venue sector, heading up both Stadia and PanStadia Magazines for many years and the annual ‘Stadia & Arena’ trade show. He has also helped launch major conferences and exhibitions in other sectors including passenger terminals, the automotive industry, esports, performing arts venues and alternative fuels.

He is well known for focusing on collaborative long-term partnerships with sponsors and advertisers, taking the time to understand their specific marketing goals before delivering ongoing project management and support.

Sandy Sykes

Event Manager

With an impressive track record in operations, brand management, and communications, Sandy brings a wealth of experience to the Transport + Energy team.

With over 25 years of experience in events, Sandy has a proven ability to organise and lead the operations, delivering complicated plans with seamless results.

Sandy’s extensive career includes key roles with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE), the Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT), Highways Magazine Awards, and Seeing is Believing.

James Evison

Content Manager

James Evison is an editor specialising in digital content, including work on PPA Award-winning and shortlisted content campaigns and events. He has worked for a number of publishing companies, including RBI, UBM, William Reed, Metropolis and Faversham House. Across a variety of roles, he has developed websites, newsletters and other digital assets, producing, editing and creating best-in-class news, features and other content.

In the transport and energy space, he was the editor of Surveyor magazine and co-founder of The Transport Network website, as well as the insight editor for sustainability brand edie.

James has interviewed government ministers such as Nick Clegg and Simon Clarke, a wide range of transport secretaries and ministers and CEOs of FTSE-listed companies.

Susan Fairley

Marketing Manager

Susan is a marketing specialist who has worked on events in the transport and energy space, as well as automotive, home, garden and pet sectors.

Susan has experience of multi-channel campaign creation, planning and execution, as well as team leadership and stakeholder engagement, bringing multi-faceted skills alongside her creative marketing background.

Her career includes key marketing roles in large events such as Glee, Spring Fair, Automechanica Brimingham, Interbuild and a number of conferences and awards.

Editorial Board

Transport + Energy is supported by a group of highly experienced experts from both sectors to make up its editorial advisory board.

Board members offer insight about happenings within the sector; give thoughts and opinions on topical issues, provide ideas for features and news contributions and help to steer the editorial direction of the brand during regular meetings.

Our board members have a plethora of experience, working in fields which are highly relevant to our brand. We appreciate their wisdom in helping us to navigate and explain the most important issues of the moment and steer our strategic direction.
